The Community’s mission in Tasmania, and its oldest outside the Philippines. Priests and sisters of the Community have served in the Archdiocese of Hobart since about the year 2000, in the Bridgewater–Brighton parish.
They keep the Filipino traditions with them — a small Sinulog in honour of the Santo Niño de Cebu, and the nine dawn Masses of Simbang Gabi before Christmas — and visit the elderly and the housebound through the week.
The Community’s Father Moderator has described Tasmania as its base for sending missionaries to the rest of Australia and Oceania.
